But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psalm 1:2

The soul that meditates on the Word of God has great joy. It is the delight of Scripture that fills the heart. The Christian does not only read and ponder Scripture he applies what he reads to his life. The Word of God teaches us to be transformed by divine revelation. Our will, heart, and mind are renewed as we digest the sweetness of the Bible.

Writing to Timothy the Apostle Paul wrote, “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” God has given Scripture for the good of his people. Scripture is a blessing of God to mankind. In the Bible, we meet the living God. We learn who God is and what God is like. Psalm 19:7 says, “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”

Consider these questions.

1. Is it your habit to seriously read and study God’s word daily?
2. Do you meditate on key verses or does God's word have little place in your thoughts?
3. Have you failed to write down key verses that speak of need in your life?

Filling your mind with scripture requires a consistent choice. You cannot love God and neglect his word. Christ said if ye love me keep my commandments. Make a personal commitment to embrace scripture and to memorisation of God’s word.
