This is just a friendly reminder of the nature and governance of this board which moderators have drafted and would like members to read:
The Puritan Board is self-consciously not a church. We are not governed by a board of elders (although many of our administrators and moderators are elders). The Puritan Board is, however, a private board, and as such is not a self-governing democratic community. In order to make the Puritan Board a respite from ordinary internet chaos, the administrators and moderators reserve the right to restrict discussion or promotion of certain topics or individuals as they best see fit for the benefit of the community. It is proper to inquire if a subject/post/topic/link has been incorrectly or inadvertently moderated, but the ultimate decision of the moderators is final in this respect. Again, the PB is not a church, and there is no church court to hear and weigh evidence on such matters. The moderators of the board are simply trying to maintain a civil, beneficial discussion community on the internet.
