Seems like the logical consequences of a atheistic or evolutionary worldview is to have either an over optimistic view of the human capacity towards goodness or leading to complete despair with no meaning for life since all life is just by accident/coincidence and humanity is no different than animals in wild.

Whereas a Christian theistic worldview seems to strike the proper balance of humanity being holistically depraved while at the same time being created in the image of God. I think these help us not to become to proud or despondent over the meaning of life.

Any good books that deal with this subject and the futility and logical consequences of a atheistic and evolutionary worldview of the meaning of life and human nature?

Thank you!
