Thoughts on Shedd Dogmatic espically in terms of atonement?

Hi! Have been thinking of purchasing W.G.T Shedd's Dogmatic Theology.

First would like to hear your overall thoughts on Shedd's Dogmatic Theology?

Would you recommend one get it or pass on it? Essential or secondary?

What do you think specifically of his views of the atonement? Is his view Definite/Limited or Universal? Does he take a Penal Substitution view or a Governmental/Moral view?
