Hi! I find the offical Gap Theory view of creation lacking becasue it reads much more into the Bible than is there (such as seeking to explain the origins of previous inhabitants on the earth and/or seeking to explain the time of fall of Satan/angels). But I do think there is merit in seeing possibility of unknown time between Genesis 1:1 as GOD's original creation and Genesis 1:2 as making the earth a habituation for humans. So that the earth itself can still be old and yet take the days of creation as literal time frame. The only other proponents I know of who reject the offical Gap Theory but do modify it a bit are John Sailhamer & Herman Bavinck. Do you know any others (ancient or modern) who might fit in this camp?

Was the primary view of the Puritans & the Reformers "young earth" creationism? Thank you!

For His Glory-
Matthew
