There are some things I would like to buy but have no clue where, if anywhere, to post this. What things?
Child Craft books, published ages ago and now out of print but they are just perfect for doing the kind of cross-cultural teaching that occurs here.
Old (1950's and before) medical books (not surgical), particularly tropical medicine. The old ones described symptoms and the time courses thereof in great detail. The new ones just tell you to do the "double-sandwich Elisa" test as if everyone has one of these in her back pocket. I doubt there's anything of the sort on the entire continent in Africa. I am dying for old medical books and suspect that some old docs are just putting them in the trash.
