Puritan Board Sophomore
Day one was spent on the road from Phoenix to Las Vegas, with a stop at Hoover Dam to spend some time spitting great vertical distances. That night we walked around on Las Vegas Blvd and visited various casinos and hotels. There are some nice sights to see at Vegas what with the many hotels and excellent architecture, but there is a lot of sinfulness and depravity as well; there were lots of people who would hand out baseball-card looking things with pornographic images of women advertising some sort of prostitution company to various passer-bys, though they were mostly ignored and it seemed to me that that was the only job those people could probably get.
Day two was spent on the road from Vegas to California, our next stop being at a hotel somewhere in Simi Valley, wherever that is. That night we ate at a Subway restaurant near the hotel and played a quick game of Texas Hold 'Em of which I was the first to get out, and suffered two whips across the forearm with a cable from a cell-phone charger, that being the agreed punishment for whoever lost first. It wasn't so bad as it sounds, because my friend doing the whipping was unlucky in his placement of the end of the cable.
Day three was spent at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was the first time I'd ever ridden on a roller coaster, and my first one was the most extreme one there: X2. The other roller coasters were also very thrilling and fun, especially Scream and Riddler's Revenge and Deja Vu. That was a great time and I hope to maybe go back sometime.
Day four was spent in the hotel room. My friends went to near-by Laguna Beach but I didn't want to get sunburnt so I stayed behind and read some, specifically Calvin on paedobaptism from the Institutes. That night we played poker again, and I lost on some hands that I could have won had I bet a little differently. Just my luck.
Day five was spent on the road back home.
