I thought of that and others from the OT, but I just ran out of time. Do you have one or several titles that are special to you?

I don't think I could pick a favorite, but here are some that are especially striking to me:

Shiloh (Gen. 49:10)

Worm (Psalm 22:5, part of the description of His humiliation)

Mighty God (Is. 9:6)

Everlasting Father (Is. 9:6)

These are all striking for different reasons. Shiloh mostly because of how early we see it and its relation to the tribe of Judah. Worm because the King of Kings was despised and rejected by the people who regarded Him as such. Mighty God, because this is one of the most clear descriptions of His divinity. And Everlasting Father as the Father of creation (see John 1 and Col. 1).

If I had to choose one, it would be the High Priest of our Confession. I find the doctrine of the Priesthood of Christ to be a sweet balm to my soul. It comforts me as nothing has ever before. How can sinful man be justified before a most intrinsically thrice holy God? By the once for all sacrifice of our Great High Priest. This is also why Hebrews is my favorite portion of Scripture. It elegantly expounds upon this doctrine.

I have always cherished most the thought of Jesus as my Redeemer.

My favorite is Savior of the World.
Here's my collection of related verses:

John 1:9 (KJV 1900)
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

John 1:29 (KJV 1900)
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 3:16,17 (KJV & ESV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

1 John 4:14 (ESV)
14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

John 4:42 (ESV)
42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”
Note: Said by the Samaritans to the woman at the well.

John 6:33 (KJV 1900)
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 8:12 (KJV 1900)
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9:5 (KJV 1900)
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

John 12:47 (KJV 1900)
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

1 Timothy 4:10 (ESV)
10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

1 John 2:2 (ESV)
2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV 1900)
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

I didn't see "Surety" on the list and it is one of my favorites.

By so much was Jesus made a Surety of a better testament.—Hebrews 7:22

If Thou hast my discharge procured,
And freely in my place endured
The whole of wrath divine,
Payment God will not twice demand,
First at my bleeding Surety's hand,
And then again at mine.—Augustus M. Toplady

To this dear Surety's hand
Will I commit my cause;
He answers and fulfills
His Father's broken laws.
Behold my soul at freedom set;
My Surety paid the dreadful debt.—Isaac Watts

Arise, my soul, arise,
Shake off thy guilty fears:
The bleeding Sacrifice
In my behalf appears:
Before the Throne my Surety stands,
My name is written on his hands.—Charles Wesley

I like "Forerunner" from Hebrews 6:20, with all it contains of the importance of Christ's ascension for us.

High Priest has been my favorite since I fell in love with the Book of Hebrews about 12-13 years ago. Mediator, obviously directly related, I'll give second place.

I love Christ, the Christ, or Christ Jesus, but the others are of course perfect. Also, When I hear son of man I think of the prophecy in Daniel.

You forgot to mention "Captain of the host of the Lord" - Joshua 5:14

So many! Hard to pick a single favorite... but I think “elder brother” is mine because it reminds me that not only is he my savior and my king... but he’s my kin. He’s not ashamed to be called my brother. I love it!

I love Christ, the Christ, or Christ Jesus
Ancillary thought, I generally prefer to use the title Christ or Lord over Jesus (especially when speaking with those outside the church). Not because I have an issue with the name, Jesus, but because the way it has been used, particularly in contemporary music - which improperly connotes a non-lordship relationship with many people (i.e. "Jesus is my buddy"). So I often emphasize Jesus as our Lord or the Christ.

I might be unnecessarily worrying about this though...

I’m with you on that.

I am in love with His name on its own.

Iesous / Yshua - As the angel said, He shall save His people from their sins.

That name alone is superlatively rich.

Larger Catechism:

Q. 41. Why was our Mediator called Jesus?
A. Our Mediator was called Jesus, because he saveth his people from their sins.

Q. 42. Why was our Mediator called Christ?
A. Our Mediator was called Christ, because he was anointed with the Holy Ghost above measure; and so set apart, and fully furnished with all authority and ability, to execute the offices of prophet, priest, and king of his Church, in the estate both of his humiliation and exaltation.

Ed, I was going to post something similar. Savior of the World is mine as well, and your quotes eloquently address why (the Timothy one speaks to me; our God is a living God).
Redeemer comes a close second, as you can tell by my signature.

Like a resplendent diamond, there are so many facets about which we may speak when it comes to our precious Lord. I'll not repeat what many have said here, but I do deeply cherish what they have shared.

Favorites of mine that I've not seen mentioned are "Rose of Sharon," and "Lily of the Valley." We named our youngest daughter Susannah after the latter of these. They both evoke His incomparable beauty and loveliness.

Peace,
Alan

Dr. Strange, a fitting post to commemorate your becoming a 'Senior' on the PB, with post # 2,000. Congratulations !

I don't know why, but 'Son of Man' is a title for our Lord that moves me. 'The Word' also.

All of them since that's what God has given us to call him, they are all equal to one another to me, and we all should use all of them at different times in our lives. I'm glad we have so many.

Was reading on a particular title today that blessed by soul this Lord’s Day.

Anointed One

A’ Brakel - A Christian’s Reasonable Service (RHB edition pg. 517-518)

Having discussed the Person of the Mediator, it now follows that our discussion focuses on His offices. The Savior Jesus generally is also called Christ. The Savior had been promised in the Old Testament under the name (Meschiach), “unto the Messiah the Prince” (Dan 9:25). The Greek have translated this as (Christos). “We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ” (John 1:41). The meaning in our language is “Anointed One,” which is derived from the Old Testament practice of anointing. In those times and places, rather than using a fragrant powder for one‟s hair as we do, they used fragrant oils which, by way of the apothecary‟s art, were created as a very choice mixture whereby all its fragrance was derived from mixing a small quantity of ingredients together, creating a quintam essentium. This oil would be sprinkled in the hair in small quantities in order to make one‟s appearance presentable, and by the loveliness of the fragrance to make oneself desirable in the presence of others. The Lord had commanded to make a special oil from various fragrant spices according to the art of the apothecary (Exod 30:32). No one was permitted either to imitate this or to sprinkle with this ointment, the violation of this injunction resulting in being cut off from his people (Exod 30:32-33). With this oil Aaron and his sons were anointed to minister in the priest‟s office (vs. 30). Prophets, as well as kings (1 Sam 10:1; 1 Sam 16:13), were anointed with this oil (1 Kings 19:16).

The Anointed One: Foreordained and Qualified

This anointment was expressive of two matters. It first of all conveyed that such persons were foreordained and called to this office by God, for one would smell the fragrance of the Lord upon this person. Secondly, it conveyed that the Lord would qualify such persons for that office. Thereby they would be desirable to the people, as the fragrance of this oil was most desirable and the anointed one would exude a pleasant scent due to the fragrance of this oil. Therefore they were called the anointed ones, and the anointed of the Lord. Christ is thus called the Anointed One, being expressive of those two matters: foreordination and qualification.

***I had to omit the Hebrew & Greek characters because they did not transfer with the copy/paste.

"Fairest of the Sons of Men" (Ps 45:2)

I owe thanks to the Letters of Samuel Rutherford for teaching me the greatness of that name.
