Of course, none of us should be planning to watch the final, but I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't even been a thread about the World Cup.

At least I didn't have to fly the German flag for the 4th of July weekend.

I have not been paying much attention to the tournament, though I must say that the England player's own goal was one of the best OGs I have ever seen. Generally speaking, however, women's football does not interest me at all.

Nor the Japanese after Sunday...I hope. I say this with sadness know one ought to have been able to enjoy the game on another day.

Maybe I (and most others) are under-estimating the Nipponese, but I think the championship was decided on Tuesday evening.

Is it appropriate to be thankful that it was on Sunday so we weren't exposed to the end, where one of the American players ran to the stands to kiss her 'wife'?

I probably should have posted in P&G instead of Sports.

I think so--(being thankful, that is).
