I am interested to know how people read this transition. One of my commentaries takes the view that it embraces the Corinthians, the other that it is Paul speaking of the Apostolic teaching. So what do folks think?

For my part Paul I think the narrative flow suggests that it is the latter. We see a glimpse of that solidarity when Peter writes in 2 Peter 3:16. The way Paul stands up to Peter in Galatians obviously did not affect their mutual respect and solidarity. I don't think Paul could have that confidence in the native Corinthian Church!
