I wonder sometimes what will go through the mind of the average postmodern evangelical when they find themselves before the God of the Bible.

While I do not endorse saddleback in any way whatsoever...and while I do agree with Solo Christo's statement...

There is a kernal of truth in what they are attempting. Elders (not spiritual guides/representatvies or whatever they were calling them) should shepherd their flock to ascertain good places to put the sheep into ministry opportunities...

Planner? It's not a bad thing to encourage people to manage their time and keep things in front of them. I've had project management courses for work and I can honestly say that it has helped me in other areas of life.
