Personally, I wouldn't waste my money....


She will go on popularity and quirks...better doing your own research and choosing what works for you...you can find the same info about products by getting catalogs, going online, and discussion with other HSers.
 
The questions you need to answer for yourself:


What are you looking for in a curriculum?
How many children do you have and are they close or spread?
How does each child learn best?

Then study methods...many can be overlapped or combine by you or by a particular curriculum.

Unit Study
Textbook
Workbook
Classical
Charlotte Mason
Unschooling
Montessori
Waldorf
Living Books
etc

TOG is Unit Study, Classical, Living Books (CM)
W is Unit Study, CM, Classical, (I throw in Living Books)
Abeka is Textbook, Workbook (we use the workbooks for phonics, penmanship, and arith)
these are just examples....the list could go on forever!
