50 Greatest Guitar Riffs in Rock 'n' Roll - Spinner

"Sweet Home Alabama" number 40? Hard to argue with the top 12, though.

[Rich Koster]

Nothing from Yes or Pink Floyd ????????????

[Michael Doyle]

Satisfaction #1...really?

[Backwoods Presbyterian]

Eruption should be #1

[LawrenceU]

No Bryan Sutton, Norm Blake, Charles Sawtelle, Steve Kaufman, or Django Reinhart.

[SolaScriptura]

Hendrix playing the National Anthem. Oh yeah.

[Romans922]

You'll disagree with me, but my favs on the list are in no particular order: #5 Johnny B Goode, #9 Money for Nothing, #18 Layla, #23 Jessica, #35 Sharp Dressed Man, and #40 Sweet Home Alabama

[Backwoods Presbyterian]

Also one that always gets overlooked is the last minute or so of Rush's "Working Man". Alex Lifeson is totally underrated.

This is a list of 'riffs', not guitar solos. A riff is a repeated pattern. "Eruption", for example, as amazing as it is is a 'solo'. Perhaps the title should be "50 Most Memorable Guitar Riffs". I think that was the author's intent. (Again, if that is the intent, how can SHA not be higher?)
