Tim Puritan Board Graduate Feb 25, 2012 #2 Mendeley is very good for annotating, tagging, etc. Check out: Read & Annotate | Mendeley PDF XChange Viewer will let you write on pdfs as well: Tracker Software Products :: PDF-XChange Viewer, Free PDF Reader ---------- Post added at 09:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:45 PM ---------- Mendeley is my main pdf program for my academic work. With it, one can go to a fully searchable, paperless system.

VictorBravo Administrator Staff member Feb 25, 2012 #3 I'll give another endorsement for Mendeley. It is surprisingly powerful and useful for working with pdfs. Annotations are easy, and you can go to any of your notes through linking. And, of course, it is free.

py3ak Unshaven and anonymous Staff member Feb 25, 2012 #4 If I make notes in Mendeley, will that be visible if someone opens the PDF in a different reader?

I can read annotations made on Mendeley using Adobe Acrobat Pro. I don't know about other readers, but it probably would work.
