What is your favorite English translation of this book? I think the first time I read it, it was the Rex Warner translation.

I'm reading this translation by Maria Boulding right now. I also own an Oxford paperback copy of the Confessions. I don't know which is better, but I know the Boulding one takes into account important academic work on the book. The footnotes are helpful and sometimes point out where Augustine makes a play on words.

Saint Augustine Confessions: "A new translation by Henry Chadwick" (Oxford World's Classics: Oxford University Press),1991 is an excellent version.
