Bagpipes Bob

Bob Dylan, currently touring in Scotland, has bought himself a set of bagpipes (by R. G. Hardie, one of the best makes, it sez here). He says he's "always wanted" to learn to play.

Heh. You just never know what that boy's gonna do next...

Hardie pipes are very nice. Now he can play an instrument that sounds almost as reedy as his voice. I sure hope he doesn't try to learn on a full set. Surely they sold him a practice chanter. Or, maybe they saw him coming and sold him a Blackwood set, fully dressed, with solid ivory and silver settings. . . .

The tune to his song "The Times They Are a Changin' " was based on the tune to "The Banks of Sicily", which was the pipe tune "Farewell to the Creeks".

R.G. Hardie's reproductions of Peter Henderson pipes are very desirable.
