From 1996-2003, inclusive, the Banner of Truth Trust held ministers/elders conferences yearly out here in California. I attended every one of them, and found them to be a tremendous blessing. The speakers were excellent, the fellowship was excellent - the whole shebang was just very edifying and God-glorifying.
Then, suddenly, they stopped. It was disappointing that those of us who had loyally attended were given no notice that they would stop. In 2004, there just was no registration form sent out - no reason given, no apology or "sorry about that". Nothing.
I realize the conferences were expensive to put on - especially with limited venue options in southern California (the first 5 were held at Point Loma Nazarene College, the remaining 3 at Westminster, and it was those last 3 that were noticeably more expensive).
But at least they could have said, "thanks for your support".
<sigh> I still miss them...
