Bavinck's Reformed Dogmatics

How does Bavinck compare with other systematics? What are the strengths of his work? I am especially interested in knowing how Bavinck's work compares with Turretin.

Ron Gleason (at Reformation21) thinks quite highly of him. What are your thoughts?

I love Bavinck. I have read volume 2 close to two times. Volume 3 on Sin, Christology, and salvation is phenomenal.

How does it compare? Less exegesis (although it is there) than most but a masterful integration of historical and theological reflection.

It's Dogmatic (systematic) Theology with an historical component. Bavinck was not an historian.

It's well worth having.

Any word yet on when Volume 4 will be published; I assume it'll be sometime in late 2007.

I've seen it listed as coming out in 2006 @ SGB. But, surely it is now rescheduled.
