I share this, my first blog effort, and maybe there can be some hints i can gain from the more experienced. On a free plan so far at Wordpress, which says will last a year, but as my means will improve soon, will probably upgrade sooner than that. LONG ago I had made a feeble attempt with another email address, i don't know if that's visible on my "page" there but it shows an email i have long since forgotten about.

My purpose in my blog is twofold

1. To help myself retain what i'm learning
and 2. to be a vessel through which others could maybe be edified

I call it Learning Thoughts ... pretty self explanatory, a learner and his thoughts. My 1st post is simply a testimony, giving my story, and what my hopes are with this venture. ... When and if giving pointers, keep in mind that i still haven't restored my computer to factory settings, and am still stuck in Guest Mode which limits what i can do. I should eventually do that, but i need to visualize and run through in my mind what all that entails first. ... Without further ado, here's my first blog post

Much appreciated, and i'll peruse yours to get a feel of how it's done well. :)

Thanks. Which reminds me, my "categories" aren't visible to the side, though they are under the post. I probably should fix that. Wordpress uses "widgets," such as categories and tags. Find which widgets work for you, but keep in my mind "less is more."

I saw what may have been categories on the side, i think one's view of the page as a creator differs from a visitor, maybe??
