Can someone recommend a pamphlet on the Doctrines of Grace?

Hi everyone,

I've been away from the 'board for over a year now due to a growing family, new job, and a new church.

Can someone recommend a simple pamphlet, preferably on pdf, that I can download and print out? Most of my coworkers are not very theologically literate (if at all); I would like to hand out a pamphlet tomorrow as many of them will be gathering for the National Day of Prayer.

I would recommend the article at this link: What We Believe About the Five Points of Calvinism :: Desiring God Christian Resource Library It gives a short overview of the history of Calvinism, and it explains each of the 5 points clearly with Scripture.

I have found "The Five Points of Calvinism" by David Steele, Curtis Thomas and S. Lance Quinn to be very good. It covers all the basics and gives many, many scripture proofs.

I also enjoyed the "Amazing Grace" DVD. Does anyone have an opinion on it as an introduction? (I leant mine to an Arminian friend and he has never given it back.)

Greetings to my new friends Dan and Erick and everyone else, too!

Thank you for your input. I must confess, my friends, that what I am about to say has the potential to sound very chauvinistic - so apologies in advance to all the puritanboard ladies! Please be sure to note that my comments are directed only to my co-workers!

Working in the medical field, I work with mostly ladies, most of whom have very little to no interest in anything 'theological' or 'doctrinal', even the ladies who are professedly Christian.

For instance, when I was invited to participate in the National Day of Prayer meeting tomorrow morning, I explained to one of my co-workers that I could not in good conscience participate in an event where Roman Catholics would participate as though we believed the same gospel; furthermore, I explained that I was a Calvinist and that I would be happy to explain what that is, if she didn't know what that was already. My co-workers response was that she 'didn't understand all that'; instead, all she wanted was 'unity among all the people of Christ!' (A sentiment with which I agree, provided we clearly define who 'the people of Christ' are!)

With that in mind, I was hoping for a very basic article, preferably with Scripture quotes (and not just references since some will not look them up) for support. Also, if possible, something rather succinct; I sent one of my co-workers Spurgeon's sermon "Free Will - A Slave" by email but came away with the impression that she was not going to read it because it was too long.

Thanks, Dan. I hadn't visited the sounddoctrine.net site in a while; looks like they've updated it. I still have some of Pastor Nick's sermons on CD that they mailed me.
