Car Songs

Numans "Cars" sticks in my noodle, too.

I enjoy parodies of songs, Weird Al's "Amish Paradise" busts me up still.

A radio station in Detroit back in the 80's did a parody of Cars called Bars. One line goes, "I like the bars. It's a great place to stop. I get loose as a goose and fight off-duty cops in bars..."

Ok. I'll call off topic on me. :offtopic: ;)

   I'm so glad you also like "Amish Paradise!" It's great, isn't it? Weird Al is some sort of treasure... :duh:

"It's my thread and I can go off-topic (too) if I want to, off-topic if I want to..."

I, too, remember that song about bars... We've always had great local radio here in Detroit and if there's anything I love, it's song parodies. We've had some very funny DJs here over the years who've put together some tremendous parodies.

Thanks to everyone who's put great car songs on here thus far! It's cool to have them all gathered in one place.

Don't know how popular this song was when it came out, but in its \"oldie\" state, I always kinda liked it:

You mean "Beep, Beep", by the Playmates! I'm like you, I remember it more from oldies collections than when it was being played on the radio.

Yep... Most of my favorite songs, I remember only as "oldies," in fact. My age peers were the "acid rock" and heavy metal folks... :um:

The late Wilson Pickett contributed to the anthology, that's for sure:
