Hi all,

I need an inexpensive, children's Christmas story book for ESL speakers. Should also be relatively short and light weight (to ship). Thanks for any help.

How many do you need?

A few years ago, CTA published a tiny (4x6, 37 pages) booklet. It's not really a full Christmas story book. It tells the birth story using 15 child friendly Bible verses—either easy verses from the ESV or verses from the GWT (God's Word to the Nations) ESL-friendly translation. Then the gospel is presented, also using Scripture alone, without any decisionism.

It would surely fit the inexpensive and the easy-to-ship standards. It's very small and light. Problem is, CTA no longer prints it. It seems an Amazon affliate has some in stock, though. Search "My Christmas Bible" from CTA.

FYI, the cover image at the Amazon site and the book itself do include baby in a manger pictures, if that matters to you.

The Amazon site doesn't offer a "look inside" at this book, but I could scan and post a few pages if you're really interested.

That's the one. There's a simple picture and a Bible verse on each spread, moving the story along. Mine also came with a page of stickers. The artwork is minimal compared to some of the more beautiful Bible story books, but there are pictures.

Sadly, the company on Amazon is going out of business and they actually do not have any copies of the book. So no one sells the book new and/or greater quantities than 1. Any other suggestions?

The Candymaker's Gift: A Legend of the Candy Cane
By Helen Haidle, David Haidle

This was a favorite with my children. It's a lovely story with beautiful pictures and explains the Gospel through the story. It is available on Amazon from several sellers.
