Favorite Drawing Programs

I'm going to be doing some work fixing up the bathroom. I'd like to find a drawing program that I can use to plan things out (drawing of studs, placement of fixtures, etc). What free drawing program do you recommend?

My favorite drawing program consists of graph paper, a ruler, a good quality mechanical pencil and eraser, and some creative ideas. That's basically what was used when I designed our home here on Bald Mountain. Dh did use a computer program to create some "blue prints" but I think much better with a pencil in hand rather than a mouse.

Sketchup is pretty much it, especially if you don't want to pay for the software.
It does not appear to work under a Linux system however (at least that was my experience), in case that applies to your situation.

If you're on Linux, QCad is free on Linux.

It's only available commercially for Windows though.

I work in a Pei building, and I've been in at least 4 others in Dallas. Functionality was apparently not the highest priority for that organization.

Microsoft Paint is killer. It is the definitive software for what you're wanting to accomplish. I sought out to redesign the APT bathrooms for the complex I'm staying at with Microsoft Paint. I've submitted it, but haven't heard anything back yet. I think it must be really good for them to ponder so long on it. Here it is:
