Considering Butler's "Lives of the Saints" for Logos prepub purchase. Though the accounts are great reads (i.e. the acct of Apostle/"St." John's life), would welcome any opinions on this work. It's unashamedly Catholic, which doesn't necessarily disqualify the work on its face, and it's pretty old.
But if it's accurate and reliable, then seems like a good ch. history resource. Just didn't want to waste $150 if'n it's not solid.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
