Puritan Board Freshman
I have noticed that several people have been banned from the board. What causes one to get banned? Is it just finding out that someone does not really hold to the WCF or LBC? Or is it more than that?
Just wondering.

There could be a whole bunch of reasons:

Orthodoxy is in question.

Immaturity in posting (being here to goof off not talk about Christ and to edify others)

Bad attitudes (those who post nasty posts that need to be edited).

Etc.

We do not ban people right away, they have to press themselves into it.

Some are quicker than others though.

The process of removing one from the PB community is painful; it is a task we struggle with. Unfortunately, it is a needed tool. Men are stained, and because of this taint, they "push envelopes". It is the nature to see just how far we can go without getting challenged. The fact that even our members have been banned on boards outside of PB, proves the point. For instance; typically, whatever board you visit or join has rules. You are responsible to adhere to the certain boards rules. If you do not want to abide, do not join. For our members to be evicted from other boards in no way brings God any glory or this forum.

In all instances, as Matt alluded to, people are given many opportunities to adhere. If they are "banned", see it as them banning themselves, not us banning them. The rules are in place, we just enforce them.
