I just saw today that Alan Curtis, founder of Il Complesso Barocco, passed away on July 15, 2015. His recordings of Vivaldi and Handel operas (listening to Lotario now) are astonishing, and part of the wonderful recovery of so much Baroque music that is a real highlight of our own time.

The line of work of rediscovering and making quality recordings of early music is of course being carried on by Federico Maria Sardelli, Diego Fasolis, Rene Jacobs, Jordi Savall, Fabio Biondi, Marc Minkowski, and a number of other extremely talented musicians in collaboration with many of today's finest and most exciting singers.
