How to Read a Book

I saw one thread in the archives here on Adler's book titled, "How to Read a Book", but not much there with respect to opinions on its contents.

Is it worth the read?

Anyplace on the web with a synopsis of the methods he advocates?

Everyone has their own way of reading. I think Adler's book is useful, and worth the read, although there are other ways to go about gleaning the good from what you read.

In my humble opinion it is definitely worth the read. I have been gowing throught it the last few months.

It is a good book. It discusses the four levels of reading- elementary reading, inspectional reading, analytical reading, and syntopical reading. It also discusses how to read different kinds of genre.
