My neighbor is Jamaican and he is an ardent track fan. Before the Olympics started he told me that Usain Bolt was going to do well if he focuses. He then told me that Usain Bolt stopped by his house on his way to the Penn Relays earlier this year.
This morning on my way to the subway I was talking with my neighbor's wife. She commented that Usain and her brother in law actually stopped at my house and rang the bell thinking that my house was lot 351(their house) instead of 353. Of course I wasn't home.
Anyway summing up my almost meeting the fastest man in the world, my neighbor commented way before the Olympics that Usain was a carefree practical joker, (This is being played out right before our eyes) with great potential. He stated that if he ever focuses all the records will be history.
As for me, I paid lip service to my neighbors opinions because I believed there were typical Jamaican patriotic sentiments. In my heart I thought Tyson Gay was going to win.
Well that is my almost meeting Usain Bolt. As for me knowing myself, if I had actually met him, I simply would have given him perfunctory encouragement without believing he could have actually done it.
