What is the best type of leather to buy a bible in? I have a NASV in red moroccan leather which is "splitting" despite my attempts to nourish it. Is it just my imagination or are Bibles getting "cheap". I am sure my grandfathers bible is still in the family and that is in pretty ggod nick and must be about 80 years old.

I would really want a bible that lasts. This can only be 20 years old and for most of the time I have been using another NIV (I know ).

A dear brother here brought up this very useful blog on Bible binding,I hope this will help you as it helped me,

Just a thought about previous generations,I believe they would take quality over quantity and that showed in what was produced and purchased
