Puritan Board Professor
From time to time, Andrew's (VirginiaHuguenot) posts remind me of the great heritage we have around us that often we're unaware of. I use to be involved in a nursing home ministry, and every time we went we drove by an area that commemorated John Eliot's work with the Indians. I was always curious, but never checked into who he was. Here's an interesting piece of history about somebody who lived locally in my area:

Just for the fun of it, does anybody know of any puritans (or famous Baptists, etc) who once lived where you live now or in one of the neighboring towns?

There weren't any Puritans around where I grew up in Washington. There weren't too many famous Christian pioneers either that I know of. It's still the most "unchurched" state in the union last I heard. Pretty sad really.

He aint a puritan but a lot of People like him. A. W. Tozer was a Pastor of Hope Christian Alliance Church here in Indy. My last Pastors Dad filled the pulpit when he left.:detective:
