I have not read it yet, but from the looks of the reviews on Amazon (and the sheer number of reviews!), it's apparently an important Lutheran work. Jaroslav Pelikan wrote the Foreword, and it's published by the Concordia Publishing House (official publisher of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, a confessionally conservative Lutheran denomination). Not having read it, I cannot speak to how well it represents Luther himself, but it looks to be a good book representing the views of conservative Lutherans from at least a century ago.
