More homeschool labor

OK, so here's a hobby vineyard the owner of the biggest "green car" magazine in the world hired us to do three years ago. Vineyard and some brickwork. 6 homeschooled young men worked on the project and a grumpy, grizzled OPC dude kind of watched over things, not saying much.

The customer is deliriously happy, and has hired us for several more projects, always requesting the young men rather than me....but hey, that's the goal...right??? At least that's how I console myself....

Hey, Grumpy dude, you sort of look like me in my hobby vineyard. Next year I'll try a line of Sirah.

Nice job getting those home-schoolers to do what you want without having to say much. I'm sure that is the part that took a fair amount of work.

Tim, I'll have to send you some picks of our mini-vineyard. We took some of your advice a couple of years back, and now I have some nice looking grapes on our vines. We are almost ready to harvest!

Nice work for a bunch of introverted, anti-socialised, poorly educated misfits. . . Oh wait, that describes most public school educated kids, not home schooled.

Seriously, nice work. I don't think Sirah would grow down here. I know some folks have tried, but now with much success. My neighbor had a nice vine he grafted to a muscadine root stock. It has done better than any others.

Good!!!! I'm always hoping my posts pay off. I have decades of very hard learned lessons that I've learned, and lots of homeschooled young men to put that experience into practice. Two weeks ago, a guy in the 30s of the Forbes richest list said they'd hire me to do a hotel, but only if I could get it done in 10 days. I told the guys the story, they said yes, and they worked at times to 11pm by city street lights to get it done, without me telling the to work extra hours. We all made a ton of money and everyone was talking about us. I didn't pass out tracts, or lecture anyone, but they all knew the guys were homeschooled, and it was crazy. The city building inspectors actually shook our hands after passing our work.

I keep seeing posts here questioning homeschooling, so I keep posting practical examples of what young men can do, and when I compare them to public schooled kids, well, I don't exactly wish I'd gone back in time and put my kids in State schools.

Here's a very small section of a 70,000 dollar project 5 of us got done in 10 days this month. No one on that job site will every say a negative work about homeschooling ever again. I actually got thanked by the number three man in an organisation that has 1500 hotels. The other contractors said stuff like "They don't talk, they just do it" the DILs helped with bringing on doughnuts etc.... and while I'm frankly exhausted, it was exhilarating, and the guys all feel proud.
