PB Time

Does anyone else here find themselves spending too much time going through PB? That it can interfere with reading, studying, etc...?

Yes or no, with a bit of expounding. I would like to know how others use PB.

I had thought in the past that I spent too much time on the board, so I logged out, and stayed away for awhile. It was very helpful. The Internet and Puritan Board specifically are nice resources, but shouldn't be the primary intellectual or spiritual encouragement.

For the first six months or so I spent way too much time here, now I've cooled off a little bit.

In the time I lurked, and after becoming a member, here I've noticed that people cycle in and out somewhat. I'm noticing the same with myself.

Hopefully the same will happen for you also.

I once thought I was PBing too much.

But then I concluded that there are plenty of other things to navel gaze and/or feel guilty about and the PB is not one of them.

Instead of hindering theological research, it speeds it up because folks on here can spot a faulty argument or link the best articles faster than I can myself.


Plus, being overseas, this affords me a chance to talk deep theology in English.

One thing I like about PB is that sometimes it gives me a subject to "run with." I listen to different Reformed teachers and the audio Bible at my desk every day at work. Even though I can't catch everything that's being said, once in a while something "pounces" out at me and gives me a whole new subject which causes me to dig into the Scriptures and/or other reading. Of course, if conviction sets in we should test it and back off for a while.
