Very helpful.
His discussion of 'deaconesses' is off base, however. It's not Titus 2 for Deacons. And there were two classes of Deacons, one I Timothy 3 and one servant widow type I Timothy 5.
I don't see how he could say that deaconess was a historic position of the ARP since they didn't do it until the late 1970's. Since he said most congregations don't ordain women deacons, how could it be part of the historic polity?

The general direction of the denomination is encouraging. Part of that will need to deal with the 1970's change to allow ordaining women as deacons, without distinction, from men in the I Timothy 3 office.

Good history of re-asserting control over the seminary and college....

And, as he says, in general, the denomination is moving in a good (biblical, confessional) direction.

He was mistaken on the history about the origin of female deacons. His brother is in the RPCNA, and I am wondering he was conflating the two histories there.

Thanks, Tim.
He was very good in general in describing spiritual oversight and direction in the denomination.

Encouraging indeed.
