Yes this is a classic number for certain but as good as Kelly was Astaire ran circles around him on the dance floor.

Check out the film Top Hat made in 1935, the first Astaire and Ginger Rogers collaboration and the most memorable ball room dancing you'll ever gaze upon, stunning and graceful and you'll envy that we can never do it quite so easily as they.

My wife loves this movie! We'll be going on a family vacation to Disney World in less than six weeks and they have this scene on the Great Movie Ride at Disney/MGM Studios.

Kelly was a different type of dancer. Astaire brought flair and grace to the dance floor. Kelly brought energy and athleticism. Kelly was a "blue collar" dancer while Astaire was "blue blood." Both were excellent at what they did.
