SOPA, your thoughts?

Does anyone have a biblical insight into the merits/unmerits of SOPA? It seems rather restrictive, punishing entire sites for the intellectual infringement of a few people.

A poorly developed response to a real problem of theft.

The same folks pushing for this are the same ones who undercut morality so as to make the theft of which they complain acceptable in society.

And finally, much of the current intellectual property laws were enacted by politicians who were bought off by the entertainment industry.

It really comes down to the policymakers not understanding the downstream effect of the bill. For example if put a link in this post on a site that SOPA violates to warn you I have in fact violated SOPA and they could shutdown the Puritanboard site, because it has a "link" to a SOPA violater. Biblically speaking, Hosea 4:6 comes to mind: Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
