Has anyone here read "The Drama of Doctrine" by Kevin Vanhoozer? I hope to read good portions of it soon, and wondered if any here had thoughts on it.

Do you think it is proper to view doctrine as Drama?

Joel,

I read it along with one of my elders and my seminary interns this summer as a reading group.

Overall I thought it was stimulating and envigorating for my studies, teaching, catechesis, and preaching. The Faith is dramatic and so is our worship.

He is anti-confessions, though, and ends up with sort of a biblicism. This is because of his reaction to cultural-linguistic theory.

You ought to e-mail Mike Horton for his thoughts on the book, as they are more developed.

Thanks for the thoughts. Maybe when I actually work through it I can ask some more specific questions. I appreciate your reply.
