I'm not a huge fan of NTB - it is somewhat sensationalistic and is guilty of numerous factual errors in its quest to generate highly charged reactions from its readers. I do like some of their articles though, and this editorial mirrors a thought I've often had about how the "freedom" of the world is anything but. The transgenderism craze highlights that. It's demeaning and abusive to women. In the name of freedom, we've stripped men of notions of gentlemanliness and deference, and we've stripped women of the protection of such men. In the race to discard past norms based on sometimes-valid critiques nobody has stopped to ask why those norms were there and what purpose they might, on a good day, have been intended to serve.
