Do you have a routine that you do on the weekend? (Other than Church) What are some things you and your spouse do (or alone), if anything?

I work most Saturdays. Before then I relax and play video games or spend time with family. Sunday, is church and I have off and relax and have a beer or two in the evening.
I'm fairly boring.

Between the morning and evening services I read commentaries and/or devotional literature, listen to sermons, take a nap. Basically the same after the evening service. Keeps me out of trouble. :)

I usually sleep in, and sometimes get some yard/housework done. Then I usually play video games. Occasionally I play some disc golf.

Saturday: Get up same time as always, around 5:30 AM. Pray, read, start coffee, check chickens, eat breakfast, mop floors and dust high places, change sheets.

That routine never changes. After around 10 AM things vary depending on the need. Today I scythed some tall grass, tightened some fence, washed my wife's car, sanded and faired my project boat, updated timesheets, prepared legal pleadings for Monday, finished sermon preparation, and we took a little trip down by the Snake River. Saturdays are usually devoted to either ongoing projects or half-day road or boat trips with my wife.

Lord's Day, same time getting up, same routine as far as reading, coffee, chicken-checking, and breakfast. More time spent on Scriptures and commentaries. We sometimes sing Psalms in the afternoon, or other times just talk. Evenings I often write down observations of the day for future reference.

My fears are that we as a Christian community are succumbing to the subtle plot being foisted upon us, that the Sabbath is part of the weekend, rather than being kept as the first day of the week. Indeed, every year we have to search for a calendar that begins the week with the Lord's day, which was the position historically.
Our weekend starts Friday night( also the day since retirement), and Saturday. Apart from mowing lawns, car maintenance, shopping and family visits etc, we use Saturday night to prepare our meal for "Sunday", so the day can be devoted to the Lord. The Sabbath is the best day of the week, yea, and in the larger sense, the first day.

Saturdays:

Browse Half Price Books and read and go on long walks with my wife, do memory work, study a language, or maybe continuing education for work. If I teach Sunday School it's a good day for a practice run.

Sundays:

Begun going to a rehab home once a month to teach, I might read a book with my wife (Dallimore's "Whitefield" or Calvin's "Institutes"), and go to a fellowship meeting at the house of one of our elders (we don't have an evening service... Dallas traffic).

I've been making an effort to finish any big projects for the week by Friday evening, then odds and ends and Sabbath preparations by 6 p.m. Saturday. That way when the inevitable delays etc. happen I'm not up till all hours on Saturday night.

I start the week with worship and fellowship and catch up on the study and reading that I don't get to during the week. My Sunday "newspaper" generally includes PB, various worthwhile blog posts, and longer Sabbath-appropriate Facebook posts.

Saturday: Wake up same time as always, eat breakfast, make some pour over coffee, morning reading and prayer. I try to arrive at the local abortion mil around 730am to try and minister to men and women there. Return home around 1030 and enjoy the rest of the morning relaxing with my wife and daughter. We currently live in the DC area so we try to use Saturday afternoons to explore something new in the District.

Sunday: Same as Saturday morning breakfast, reading, prayer, and coffee. We will sometimes put a kids bible tv show on for my daughter so my wife and I can get some relaxing alone time to just meet together. After lunch we usually end up at someone from the church's home for fellowship before heading to our service at 430. After service we had back to the house and get the baby ready for bed and try to do some reading together.

We also like to use the weekends to facetime with family.

Saturday: Sleep in, spend time with my fiancée, read, smoke, watch movies, clean, laundry, Youtube, etc.
Sunday: Sleep in, church, spend time with my fiancée, smoke.

Enjoying the free time before children while I can.

I usually spend quality time in the weekend with my daughter. It's also time to catch up with my reading/study. The Lord's Day is spent in church.

Chores (Saturday) and Church (Sunday).

Ditto, :)

Although its great to have the weekends off, I still see Saturday as a fun work day,
So much stuff to do around the house, the projects never seem to end.
And now that we have chickens, I can also relate to Victor's post.
