Do you know about University Reformed Church transfer to the PCA? Did join URC the Great Lakes Presbytery?

Thanks Craig
I wrote this earlier. My question is about that URC was already received in the PCA and the Great Lakes Presbytery.

University Reformed now in PCA

Thanks Craig

Yes the University Reformed Church in East Lansing is now a congregation within the Great Lake Presbytery of the PCA

Interesting. I never heard about what happened regarding the "deaconesses" there. Shouldn't that be an issue in transferring into the PCA?

Deaconesses don't seem to be a problem in Philadelphia or New York City....

It's not showing up in the PCA directory (either map or listings) yet.

If so, why not listed in the PCA church directory?

I do not find a website for Great Lakes Presbytery PCA.
The transition to the PCA is noted on the University Reformed Church Facebook page.

Could just be a slow update as folks scramble in advance of General Assembly. Didn't see it featured on the church web site, either. May be in there somewhere, but I didn't spot it last night. So it's still not clear that the status has been finalized.

I don't know what the entire processes is, but I do know that we have not been officially or fully received into the PCA yet. I know our elders still have to take their exams. I'm sure Kevin will post something once everything is official.

How will the presbytery and URC handle this? I would be interested to know how it plays out.

Thanks for the update.

I think they are non-ordained deaconesses. So do not violate the Book of Church Order

Maybe so, but their website lists all the names of deacons and deaconesses without qualification. I'm wonder if there is a functional and practical equivalence. If so, ordained or not ordained is a distinction without a difference.

For those who don't read Aquilla - the pastor indicated that he had been admitted to membership in the Presbytery, but the church would not transfer until September. So I suppose he's technically laboring out of bounds at the moment.
