Another reason to dump theatrics in church

I saw this and cringed. Youtube is littered with people attempting to do something flashy in church that results in disaster. Why do some churches insist on doing these goofy things?

This was at a Vacation Bible School so I understand the decorations, but I don't understand what launching this young lady across the stage has to do with John 15:5

The word of God is deemed insufficiently interesting, motivating, enlivening and enriching. There is a famine of the Word of God in these churches, and it shows.

My friend, what makes you think this has anything to do with the word of God? That would imply that it was somehow God-centered, and it clearly is not.

Did anyone go to the YouTube site and read the comments? Many of them express glee at the girl's injury, and mock God and His church at the same time. I agree and lament that such antics provide opportunities for God's enemies to mock and scoff, and the reveling in what appeared to be a serious injury is sickening.
