Any Woodworking experts out there?

I have purchased several 2X12 white pine planks for an outdoor floor. What is recommended for removing the dirt, markings and especially the banding marks on the wood? They are not coming off easily and since I will be staining...

I'm not a woodworking expert but have taken a good amount of wood shop classes at my school. In regards to the dirt and markings, you should be able to sand it off...and depending on how deep the band marks are, they should be able to get sanded smooth as well.

Do you have any friends who might have a planer? That would be the quickest, easiest way to shave a 1/32" off of one side and/or the other.
