There is a new work out by Tom Nettles, The Baptists: Key People Involved in Forming a Baptist Identity. Volume One: Beginnings in Britain (Fearn, Ross-shire: Mentor, 2005).

Baptists and the Bible is pretty good.
Theologians of the Baptist Tradition is good.
Why I am a Baptist is okay. :P

No joke, for a Baptist perspective they are good.

I have not read Baptists and the Bible or Why I am a Baptist. Theolgians of the Baptist Tradition is very uneven - some good stuff, and some bad, in my opinion.

Ditto, I agree. Which edition did you read?

Jacob,

Ooops. I just checked and the book I was thinking about is Baptist Theologians, George and Dockery, eds. I'm not sure if that's the same as the one you mentioned. I don't think so.

Okay, you have the one done a long time ago. They have Clark Pinnock in that one, do they not? And if I am not mistaken, somebody else besides Patterson does the bio on Criswell.
