Brothers and sisters,
Think of one of yourfavorite Bible stories...imagine what it would look like...what it could look like...what it should look like...on canvas
I need some advice/help. For the past several months I have been working on the Bible Painting Project. This unique project consists of approx. 1,000 separate paintings on canvas depicting the entire sweep of the Biblical witness, from Creation to Fall, through Salvation, unto Consummation.
To the best of my knowledge, nothing quite like this has ever been attempted outside of the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo's ceiling, however, was not painted from a Protestant perspective, nor conceived through a Reformed prism. Again, to the best of my understanding, nothing of the scale and scope of the Bible Painting Project exists on canvas as one cohesive collection anywhere in the world. This Project is a one-off. It will be a unique contribution to art history.
The purpose of the Bible Painting Project is foremost to glorify our Triune Lord. Moreover, it is my hope that Christians will be strengthened and encouraged in their faith. In addition, the paintings may have an influence in the conversion of non-Christians. Also, there may be present and future artists who commit themselves to glorify God through their own work.
The Lord has conferred the idea of the Bible Painting Project unto me. I've conceived it, but have not the ability to gestate nor birth the Project. I have identified and titled approx. 1,200 Biblical scenes. In addition, the general paramaters /descriptions are completed for many of the scenes. It has come to the point where I have done just about all I can do, and am seeking those who would partner with me to bring the Project to fruition.
I need advice/help:
How should I proceed from here? Who should I talk to? Where should I go? Are any of you painters? Do you know any painters who would volunteer to contribute paintings to the Project?
Can you speak with your College or Seminary professors, schools, to see if they may be interested in sponsoring, or becoming involved in this Project? I also need a theological advisory board to screen for the Biblical accuracy and theological precision of the paintings.
Any help/advice is deeply appreciated. Please respond publicly as well as pm me. Thank you all.
"In Christ",
Bobby
p.s.- I count it an extraordinarily sweet blessing to be absolutely impotent. I have no more resourcses to bring this Project to fruition than to fly to the moon. If it be the Lord's will, the day will soon come when we will see the paintings hanging, our faith will be increased, and we shall have another wonderful testimony to the power of God in the lives of His people.
