Boethius: The Consolation Of Philosophy

[Jacques]

I've been highly recommended an older book by Boethis: The Consolation Of Philosophy.

I've just learned of it. There are so many translations! I'd love to grab this for my reMarkable.. can someone recommend a translator, or even a direct PDF that's formatted well?

thank you

I just saw someone post about this the other night on FB. Here is the ePub I had bookmarked from Gutenberg. Looks really clean.

The Project Gutenberg eBook of The Consolation of Philosophy of Boethius, by Boethius, trans. H.R. James.

Thank you.

There are so many translators; the other one I came across is from the ex-Classics Project translated by Cooper. The James translation you mention here seems a bit more mentioned

My favorite translation is the one by S.J. Tester one in the Loeb Classics edition.

Hadn't thought about this book in years. We read it in one of my philosophy classes.

That's Ignatius J. Reilly's favorite book in A Confederacy of Dunces.
