Book recommendations for Lord's High Priestly Prayer?

[lumenite]

I have some commentaries on John.
But would you recommend other good books for John chapter 17, the high priestly prayer?

[Reformed Covenanter]

Reformation Heritage Books have recently republished Anthony Burgess's exposition of John 17. Thomas Manton also has an exposition of the same chapter. You could not go far wrong with either of those.

[Stephen L Smith]

Robert Traill "The Lord's Prayer for His people" (Soli Deo Gloria Publications)
Martyn Lloyd-Jones "Assurance of our Salvation: Exploring the depth of Jesus' Prayer for His own" (Crossway)

I recently acquired a copy of George Newton on John 17, which I’m sure will be excellent in addition to those already suggested.

Was Joseph Alleine his assistant?

Was Joseph Alleine his assistant?

Yes, I read that in the biographical note.

Interesting, thanks. I read The Life and Letters of Joseph Alleine last week and wondered if this guy was the same George Newton.

Don Carson's work on the upper room discourse and final prayer is quite worshipful.

Thank you all. I found a nice list of some old books.
