Newer books often contain a set of study questions for group discussion. However, it would be nice for reading groups to also tap into the classics, including the puritans. Does anyone here know of a good source for discussion guides for some of these older works? I came across a partial set for Boston's Four-fold State from a "Dead Theologian's Society" which doesn't seem to exist anymore, but a collection of resources like this would be helpful!

  1. How does the concept of Christ as the "second Adam" relate to the covenant of grace? What are the implications of this role?
  2. In what ways does the text describe the process of Christ becoming the "Kinsman-redeemer"? How does this role connect to Old Testament traditions?
  3. What are the four things that a kinsman-redeemer was expected to do according to the text? How does Christ fulfill these expectations?
  4. How does the text explain the necessity of Christ being both divine and human in order to serve as a mediator between God and mankind?
  5. What is the significance of the "book of life" mentioned in the text, and how does it relate to the concept of election?
  6. How does the text describe the relationship between God the Father and Christ in forming the covenant of grace?
  7. What parallels does the author draw between Adam in the first covenant and Christ in the second covenant?
  8. How does the text explain the concept of Christ "marrying the widow" in relation to human nature? What is the theological significance of this metaphor?
