Christology?

"Christ took upon Himself real human nature, not as it was before the fall, but such as it had become by and after the fall."

I just read this as to what Kuyper believed,from a secondary source, and for some reason this does not ring correct because I believe we sin because we are sinners as a result of the fall.

Any thoughts?

Many of the early church fathers, such as Athanasius, argued that Christ became flesh in order to redeem the flesh. Christ became flesh as we are flesh, yet He was without sin.

The fact that Christ experienced true pain, sorrow, death (temporarily) etc. argues pretty strongly that he took on a "post-fall" human nature. He was tempted in every respect as we are, yet unlike us remained without sin.

Of course one way in which Jesus did differ from all other post-fall humanity is that he was free from original sin, by virtue of his supernatural, virgin birth.
