Churches Coming Back Together

We hear all the time of churches splitting, but does anyone know of any stories of churches that split coming back together and being one church again?

I know of a couple of churches in WV that split over the War and then reunited later. But that was eons ago...

The largest example might be the southern/northern Presbyterian church split that came back together as the PCUSA in when, the 1980s? Of course by then, both the OPC and the PCA had split off from the northern and southern churches respectively.

With all do respect those of us who came out of the 1983 "merger" like to look at it as more of a "hostile takeover" than any kind of re-union...

You might find this link as interesting as I had. It describes the history of this OPC church that left the OPC during the split in 1937 and re-united with dissenting members who stayed within the OPC who had started another church after the split. It is interesting to note that it appears to be Francis Schaeffers old church . I cannot remember how I found this, it may have been posted by someone else, on the board.
