So, my work is giving classes to every employee, 32 hours worth. the curriculum is very squishy and is a mixture between Dr. Phil, Oprah Winfrey and Joel Osteen. it emphasizes "self esteem" and "self affirmation" and positive thinking there is a lot of psychology and philosophy behind it.

i just went through my first four hours of the class today and they asked my opinion on the curriculum, so i told them flat out what i thought, it leads to narcissism and I don't buy it.

should i now for the remaining 28 hours of classes coming up keep quiet even though opinions and participation is encouraged or should i participate and give my opinion where it's asked of me?

Participate and give your opinion. There is no need to be intentionally abrasive or rude about it though; just be honest and speak the truth in love.

Definitely give your opinion! I did when I was in classes like this in college and you would be surprised how many ppl start changing their opinions (or else they thought it all along but didn't want to speak out). It's really a great learning exercise bc they will ask questions that at times will make you stretch in your thinking...

I had to take a class last year on Intro to Human services, as you can tell by the name, Humanism dominated that class. It was very frustrating, but I gave my opinon when asked. Be patient, Finish it, and thats it.

I suggest you attend and read your Bible.

You probably should have another job lined up before you do that. Senior management probably wouldn't react very well if the materials were ditched for a 4 hour session of reading aloud from the Bible.

Whenever someone asks you your opinion, you are free to give it. In fact, I would say required to give it. "Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Notice the last two words: meekness and fear. These last two words are important. Don't give your answer in snarkiness and arrogance. Attending these classes shouldn't go against your conscience; as far as I know, the management is not requiring you to sign anything saying "I believe everything with my wholeheart and will practice it continually." View it; take what is good, chuck what is bad.

If you are there as part of your employment, I would suggest going and contributing as much as is allowed.

The natural man is ready to eat up any sort of molasses mire plopped before him because that is the food he grew up with. He doesn't know it is bad for him. If a Christian will not be there to question that which is assumed to be correct, the natural man will not know or care that there is an opposing perspective. Even then, the great motivation in giving your opinion would not be for the natural man to merely consider other perspectives but to consider the correct perspective. The biblical perspective.

Contribute and share your opinion. It sounds like a great opportunity to share the gospel, especially if people ask you questions outside of the class about your opinion they heard you share.
